Chipotle 0\/\/|\|4G3

Post by VLSmooth »

After having just delightfully consumed a succulent Grilled Chicken Fajita (menu) from Chipotle, I must say they own. 8)

Anyone else know about it?

It's probably a 5 minute walk (tops) from the AAA. I had to parallel park to get really close to it though.

Excerpt:
The group says the fast-growing McDonald's affiliated chain Chipotle doesn't disclose the fat or calorie content of its burritos. But independent laboratory analysis shows many of the massive burritos weigh in at more than 1,000 calories and 12 grams of fat. That's more calories than two Quarter Pounders and much more than in most sandwich offerings at other fast-food chains.

"Fresh-Mex chains cultivate an aura of healthfulness, and sometimes it's deserved," says CSPI executive director Michael F. Jacobson, in a news release.

"But because Chipotle doesn't reveal calories or other nutrition information, most people wouldn't have a clue that a Vegetarian Burrito is the equivalent of an overstuffed corned beef sandwich -- plus 350 calories," says Jacobson. "Chipotle's Carnitas Burrito is like an artillery shell filled with a day's worth of saturated fat and sodium."

W00T! 8)

Actually, I'm not too surprised since their burritos are huge and you get to choose your toppings. Tons of cheese and sour cream would easily tip the scales, but I don't go that path ^_^;

Nah, for me the chicken fajita burrito with corn/tomato salsa, rice, and lettuce is da b0mb d1gg1ty!

Interesting that Chipotle is owned by McDonald's though. I've also gone to Baja Fresh, the Wendy's version, that's across from a nearby movie theater. Too bad I generally found Baja Fresh's portions to be too small :roll:.

That's fuckin' hilarious. Especially in the context of Alan's post which you are replying to.

Baja Fresh's burritos are not particularly large. They're still bigger than a cheeseburger, though.

Ah, I probably need to clarify that I haven't had a Baja Fresh burrito yet. I've only sampled their enchiladas, since I much preferred not to have a mess on my hands at the times I went.

Lettuce is empty calories.
