I look around a bit but can't find any information about it. Anyway, my question is are they planning on releasing this as standalone single user software?
I think I am interest in trying it out, but it seems like this will only to sold on a subscription base. Also I am not sure if you can run it on any hardware supported by linux or you have to buy a system designed by sun.
It would be cool if they can make this sit on top of any OS: unix, linux, windows, mac.

It looked to me as if it would sit on top of any desktop that could run a JVM really... It didn't seem clear to me if it needed a WM under it or if it was providing its own in Java. I would think they'd be going for the latter, but this brings up the need for Java'ish display drivers I would think. I'm not really sure how that would work though.
