compositing window managers

Post by Jonathan »

So, I like Expose. There's a couple of Linux desktops that will do that. I've also seen an Expose-like feature for virtual desktops, and that would not be awful. I don't use a lot of virtual desktops at home, but features are nice.

Are there any other useful features in an accelerated window manager? I haven't seen Vista do anything interesting, but I haven't looked too hard.

Transparency might be interesting if it applied to chat windows so I could see what I was surfing beneath, maybe? It's silly for a terminal, and generally useless.
