buying laptops

Intel gave us a thousand Dell bucks for a computer. We bought Amber the Inspiron 300m. She wanted the smallest laptop they had and we wanted to spend the least amount of money, so there wasn't a lot of decision making that went into this purchase. We did spring for the 65 Whr battery. It weighs an additional pound (on a 3 lb. laptop, that's a lot) but it pushes the battery life to something reasonable, like 5+ hours instead of 2.
