For general rambling.

No matter what, I can't bring myself to start working on something else while I wait for something to compile.

1. Post to Mohtalim.
2. Play with an office toy. Smart Mass Thinking Putty is the runaway winner here.
3. Watch the CPU utilization monitor turn from blue to yellow and then blue again as the compilation finishes.

I don't have anything that takes more than 2 minutes to compile, I usually just walk around the build and stuff

Building the whole source tree for what I'm doing takes maybe 45 minutes including all the libraries and shit I didn't write. If I edit one of my header files, I have maybe a 5 minute compile if I do one that involved lots of templates.

Obviously you should get an Athlon 64 to do your compiling on :P
