Yes, it's the same avatar as always, but, how much processing power does it take to display it on your systems? After all the patches that I've gotten for WinXP and IE 6.0.2600, it just slows this computer to a crawl and only displaying about 1 frame per second.
This is a P4 1.7GHz with 256MB RAM

Solution: install a goddamn 21st century browser. I have a 1.1 GHz Tualatin on a laptop platform. With Mozilla, Dave's screen of avatars runs at full framerate. With IE5, I have 2 fps on the wall o' penguin.
Just for fun, I did a Tile Windows Horizontally and watched the Mozilla penguins outrace the IE penguins. The Mozilla penguins completed 8 full cycles plus most of a ninth cycle in the time it took the IE penguins to do one cycle.

Yeah, that did a pretty good job of halting this system. At least I could scroll them off the page. I was able to calcuate that I was getting better than 1 frame per second with reasonable accuracy from that though. Obviously, IE6 does just suck balls and that's why I'm not installing it on any of my other systems. And they say they do performance testing which won't let them release slower software. HAH!
