Worst ending ever?

I didn't see Matrix Reloaded in the theater, so I can't compare it to that.

Although I haven't seen it, one critic was saying that they literally took the empire strikes back script and essentially copied it nearly exactly.

Ok, first off, nothing in Pirates compared with the appalling third Matrix (Reloaded?). There was one significant similarity to Empire and maybe one additional cosmetic one. They certainly didn't copy the script--well, except for the battle on the ice island Hoth... And Will revealing that he's actually Captain Jack's father... There, now I've spoiled the movie for everyone.

Not a great movie, but not horrible.

Oh, and was I the only one that thought of Guybrush Threepwood when they made that undead monkey joke?

I hate movies that set you up for a sequel basically just saying "hey, thanks for the 8.50, come back in a year and we'll tell you what happens".

Yeah, this is what bit. That, and the surprise WTF scene at the very end.

Empire had some denouement after the surprise.

So true! I want my money back! Those types of endings should be disallowed. All movies should have to have a real ending and not some cliffhanger ending. It's not a TV series and it's not a book series. It's a damn movie. I want my 2 hours of entertainment and then I want closure at the end so I can go home and move on with my life. Absolutely nothing got resolved!

Actually, serials were a very common part of the movie going experience until relatively recently.

Not that I'm complaining. The theater I went to had projector problems at the first showing I tried to see, so they gave two free passes. Basically, a free movie.
