Cultural differences manifest in many ways. Whereas race and ethnicity are obvious, there are also meaningful separations in life experiences among the fat and the thin, the gravely ill and the well...The recognition of these differences...educate you...build empathic bridges and eliminate...doubts about each other. It is alright, for example, to ask how it feels to be markedly overweight in an airplane seat designed for a slender, short person.
