Going to Atlantic City tomorrow

Post by Alan »

For fun and profit. Actually for fun and losing all my money. Whatever.

Then on Sunday we're going to go see a soccer match. The Italian Super Cup, Juventus vs. AC Milan, which is being played at Giants stadium.

In order to raise interest in the Italian Serie A they've started playing the Italian Super Cup (match between the team who wins the league and the team that wins the Italian Cup) abroad.

Last year it was in Libya. This year, East Rutherford, NJ. Heh.

Reminds me that I went to DC101 (radio station) on Wednesday to get free soccer tickets/participate in an 8 pm foosball tournament. Problem is, the four of us got there at 6:15 and where told the 32 pairs of tickets were claimed by 5:30... oh well.

How's that for a random roadtrip?
(btw, winner of the tournament got an authentic jersey. too bad we all got eliminated in the first round, except for Parag, who traded his tourney position for two tickets!)

(I think it was Milan vs. something, whatever it was, it was at RFK stadium)

AC Milan played FC Barcelona in DC last week, so that was probably it.

would be amusing if that happened to him all by the same person.

Didn't get laid, didn't get robbed.

I got semi-drunk in Atlantic City. Two of my friends got pretty drunk and were pushing each other into people and push-carts. Then one cracked his head on the boardwalk and got laughed at by everyone and then threw up.

Fun times.

The game was pretty cool, it was like Giants' Stadium became Little Italy for a few hours. The attendance was 54,000 or so, not a sellout but better than I expected.

Apparently when Celtic played Manchester United in Seattle it broke the stadium's attendance record. Then again, the Seahawks suck balls so it's only mildly surprising.

I got all sunburned. We showed up early to tailgate but didn't bring sunblock, food, or chairs. Just beer. Two of my friends drank a whole case in about 3 hours, plus 3 more bottles during the game. They were pretty smashed, and slept the whole way back, which sucked because that meant only two of us were fit to drive back after having slept only 4 hours the previous night.

I also lost $40 to slot machines and video poker. It's like once you go in a casino your money becomes worthless, so it's easier to waste it. We also bet $20 each ($100 total) on Red and lost.

It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but it doesn't take any to just sit there with a dumb look on your face.
