Killing a lot of time with Hearthstone recently.
Queen's Gambit was alright, but I bet you already saw that.

Hearthstone Duels
This is a new game mode in Hearthstone, currently in beta testing. It's interesting to compare against ranked and Battlegrounds, which is also a new game mode currently in beta testing. I spent $45 in total on my card collection: one $20 bundle for the latest expansion (Darkmoon), one $20 bundle for...

Venture Capital is deforming business
The article says "deforming capitalism" but honestly I think capitalism is doing just fine. It's this whole concept of "making goods or services and exchanging them for money" which is being unrecognizably bent. https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2020/11/30/how-venture-capitalists-are-deforming-capi...

A group of prominent former world leaders and statesmen chastised Trump on Thursday for refusing to accept his loss in the U.S. election and “putting at risk the functioning of American democracy.” The group, called the Elders, typically comments on world conflicts and violations of human rights or...

Broadly, we're looking at a landscape right now where there's many UHD options, and many wide gamut high contrast HDR options, but very few UHD wide gamut HDR options, especially at sizes > 30".

HMDI 2.1 is required if you want 60 Hz and 10 bit color, actually.

Re: 2020 HW thread
Big problem with my previous posted: all the Nvidia cards launched thus far are for 650W or bigger PSUs! However, looking at the Founders Edition card, I am guessing the 225W cards won't really be 4K@60FPS, which is what I'm in the market for. Even the 3070 can't do that at max settings, but if I re...

Mike Godwin (yeah, that Godwin) lays out the case that Section 230 of the CDA enables moderation of user-generated content. I get the argument... I feel like that there has to be a third way?
