Can you create a single player game for pei to try out against AI's? Standard settings should be fine. He can figure out our tweaked settings later.

There is no racial difference and no option to add racial difference.
Sure, I can make a Pei+me game. If I start it, I have to be in the game for it to start.

Pro tip for Erik & Pei: Don't spend your money until you've colonized some other stars. I mean, you can try something else, but it'll suck.

Huh.
You know what, I'm almost positive I didn't change the Scanning to be 3.
I think the game is forcing Scanning 3 with Dark Galaxy.

Why do economy and industry appear to have the same cost? I thought standard industry versus expensive economy would make economy more expensive to build than industry... What does expensive industry do?

No, standard economy is cheaper than standard industry. Expensive economy is the same price as standard industry. That's the same as Empire of New Dirt.
I haven't tried expensive industry.
As you may have noted, I just made Scanning and Hyperspace cheap and said fuck it. The game forced Scanning 3. (I'm like 99.99% sure)

Re: game #2 of Neptune's Pride 2
http://crateandcrowbar.com/forum/gaming ... w-players/The fixed cost is something like 250 for Economy, 500 for Industry, 2000 for Science, and 10000 for a Warp Gate. So, each level of Terraforming (which adds 5 resources) reduces your costs by a factor of Y / (Y + 5). By way of example, for a star with 20 natural resources, going from 4 to 5 is about an 11% reduction, going from 10 to 11 is a 7% reduction. (In absolute terms, this can be significant, since by the time you have 10 Terraforming, your infrastructure will probably be developed enough that your costs will be very high.
Expensive economy doubles the price, so expensive industry probably doubles the price.

I conceded in Pei's testbed, so hopefully he can just autogen turns all day long.

ah, so industry is supposed to be twice as expensive as economy, but you've doubled economy. Makes sense. Thanks!

If anyone cares, the 5P circular start is an inverted regular pentagram (point is down). Indigo is the left-most vertex, and I believe it proceeds clock-wise with no randomness. There's 16 ly between your home planet and your nearest 2 neighbors, which is 48 ticks of travel (6 turns) as the hyperspace crow flies. We should bump into each other around turn 4-5 or so.

All people whose names begin P-E-I need to get in the War so it can start and we can do production, like, right now. I'm going out tonight and won't be able to submit for a while.

Play your turn from your phone. It's pretty much going to be pressing submit for the first turn.Jonathan wrote:All people whose names begin P-E-I need to get in the War so it can start and we can do production, like, right now. I'm going out tonight and won't be able to submit for a while.
