it's only $80
It's $60 at NewEgg and got pretty good reviews.

I've been pretty satisfied. It's annoying to try to use in the dark, since a bunch of keys are in non-standard places. It's also annoying that it doesn't have a middle mouse button for Firefox. It's not quite as fast as a real mouse for some activities, but it's good enough that I haven't considered putting a real mouse back on that computer. So, yeah, I'd recommend it.
I think I saw it discounted in one of newegg's recent e-mails.

I've been using the Logitech diNovo Edge ( newegg ) for a few weeks. It's more expensive ( got it for ~$110 after rebate ) but it's very nice. I particularly like the touchpad.
The biggest con, other than price, is the lack of numpad functionality (I mapped some numkeys to the customizable function keys). It also lacks a middle mouse button. Other than that, it's been great.
As for advantages, it uses Bluetooth, has a charging base, charges ridiculously fast (<2 hours) and lasts for ~one month per charge with heavy usage.

I generally feel a touchpad is more reliable with no moving parts. Subjectively, it's easier to control and more accurate. On the otherhand, having a touchpad suck your cock is pretty impressive.Peijen wrote:touch pad can suck my cock.
What's the proper procedure to edit a post and make it new? Or is it better just to make a new post with the new info potentially cluttering the thread?Peijen wrote:damn you vinny!!

Just edit the original post and make a brief new post saying what you changed... That's what I've seen often. Anyone else seen anything different? This doesn't work so well, if you're changing the meaning of the original post, but is fine if you're changing something minor like a price or something else that can fluctuate.VLSmooth wrote:What's the proper procedure to edit a post and make it new? The trackball one has a scroll wheel hidden under the left front corner and a second left mouse button under the right corner. Not visible in any of the pictures that I recall, but means you can hold it like a game controller. It's not quite usable one handed, since the right button is on the far side.
Some of the recent bluetooth keyboards have been getting bad reviews for mouse lag. This one seems OK.

In case people are interested in a solid $15 wireless keyboard and mouse deal (no rebates, heck free after rebate).

Re: it's only $80
Since I was talking to vinny and completely ignored this thread before, I got a keyboard w/ trackball during my holiday shopping because I was tired of using a mouse in front of the tv.

It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but it doesn't take any to just sit there with a dumb look on your face.

More likely there are several importers all doing business with one factory.
