SHA-1 has been broken. Immediate consequences: RIAA/MPAA can seed junk files on the filesharing networks. Are there others?

'Daily Show' viewers ace political quiz (
link )
In a recent survey, viewers of Stewart's "The Daily Show" on Comedy Central tested better than Letterman and Leno viewers on a six-question politics quiz...
"Daily Show" viewers came out on top "even when education, party identification, following politics, watching cable news, receiving campaign information online, age and gender are taken into consideration."...
"Daily Show" viewers are 78 percent more likely than the average adult to have four or more years of college education...
"Daily Show" viewers are 26 percent more likely to have a household income more than $100,000...
So the guy watching Stewart may not only be smart, but may also be rich.

MSNBC: Teens' online lingo leaves parents baffled (
link )
"'How about nifoc,' I asked, 'what does that mean?' No one knew. So I told them it means 'naked in front of computer.' You should have seen their reaction," she said...
Melton has a whole string of horror stories. In one case, a 12-year-old girl created three distinct online personas for instant message communication -- all much older, and sexually active. One persona was a 26-year-old woman with dominatrix tendencies, who worked as a real estate agent.
