A high-quality list of search queries that people have performed to get to the website of John Davin, a senior in CS at CMU.

"dead babies homepage"

WTF?
Found this on his website.

What makes me feel pathetic is this guy did everything I wanted to do. He's done more and done it better.

Basically lots of amusing FFXI statistics 8)
We have actually broken through the 500,000 mark for paying customers with at least one character.
FINAL FANTASY XI has more than 1,200,000 registered characters.

The story Bush wants you to be incensed about.

The story you should actually be incensed about.

For Colin Powell: I condemn both the torture of dudes and the killing of dudes, no matter their ethnicity.

If you eat fast food more than once a week, see this and rethink your diet. Even if you don't eat fast food, it's worth the less than 2 hours of your time. It's funny, interesting, and somewhat disgusting all at once.

Oh, how many pounds do you think this guy gained after the first week of eating only McDonalds? (note: he restricted himself to walking the average distance most people in this country walk per day as well.)

One last note, Texas now has 5 of the top 10 most obese cities.

Gary Benchley, Rock Star, does it again. He may have to consider being a rock star/writer if he keeps this up.

is that where the guy ate McD 3 times a day for an entire year to show he would get fatter?
It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but it doesn't take any to just sit there with a dumb look on your face.

Replace year with a month and then you're right. I doubt this guy would've lived through a year of eating McCrap. Hell, he was doing a good job of destroying his liver after a month. He was consuming on the order of 5000 calories a day!

The movie was inspired by people who are going after McD's and food producers in general because they're feeding us crap. The courts said, that in order for a person to win the case, they'd have to prove that McD's intends to hook people into eatting out all the time. Of course, any business wants to get people addicted to their product, but like smoking, fast food is deadly when had often over long periods of time. One might argue that too much of anything is bad, and you'd probably be right. Still, McD's has a culture of ingraining into kids that it's cool and fun and everyone's doing it, which carries into their adult life kinda like brain washing.

Interestingly enough, the movie branches out to show that schools are serving the same preprocessed crap to kids. The schools also turn a blind eye to the kids just buying fries or sodas and assume they brought something healthy from home (which is preposterous). Anyways, this poor behavior has caused some school districts to start banning all sorts of vending machines. The food industry has been battling this move saying that it's unfair, but they're more concerned with how this affects their bottom line than the health benefits for our nation's children.

FFXI Vana'diel Clock:
http://www.hori.ne.jp/ffxi_vdck/index.html

The clock displays:
  • Vana'diel date/time (this is probably dependent on having earth time set to JST though)
  • Earth date/time
  • Moon cycle
  • You can set 4 timers - by either VD time, Earth time, countdown or other alarm
  • 4 alarm themes (from the 4 country theme songs)
  • a high quality pearl white exterior!
  • blue LED face light

For your listening pleasure, I have mirrored "Smells Like Teen Spirit," as his site is ass-slow. Interestingly enough, this is exactly how I sing along to pop songs.
