That is the reality. We compete in a worldwide market, and other countries, for better or for worse, provide labor less expensively than we do. Sure, China assigns many workers to their factories, requires that they live in overcrowded dormitories so they can be available for work at a moment's notice, and requires employees in many instances to work more than 60 hours per week.
That is the way things are and they are not going to change. We should all stop demonizing corporations that have their products built in other parts of the world. Those corporations see the whole planet as their sales market. Apple sells iPhones in more than 200 countries. It only makes sense that they see the whole planet as a supply market as well.
Make so the right to unionize is a basic human right. There's no reason the U.S. has to accept that overseas labor can be treated like shit.
