Very interesting, but for some cities the data is suspect. No one actually lives in Atlanta, for example (see also the half mill pop they listed in the stats compared to the six mill in the metro region), but people do live in Portland.

I agree. I'm just annoyed with the usually buying statistics that wall street uses. It's useless for the DC/LA/NY market space since it caps out at 500k. The median here is 500k, not the top.
It's nice to see that the rest of the market is very similar however with a median around 200k.

Good god, where are they getting their DC numbers? I'd accept the home prices assuming that they're averaging in the folks in the boondocks. But $2400 to rent is what you'd pay in a nice building in a trendy neighborhood next to a metro station.
I feel like I just beat a kitten to death... with a bag of puppies.
