Yeah, I remember the talk by Doug Burger. I remembered him two weeks ago when I originally read the article. I also remember Falsafi ripping on him. They're gonna have some fun getting those loopback wires working, but I suppose they could just let the data take two or three or five clock ticks to get back accross the chip and not care as long as the grid is big enough to hide most of that latency.

This coding methodology should be rolled up into another 802.11x standard rather than this one company doing it. It would make wireless way more useful and prevalent than it already is. Also, if it is given a standard, then more people are likely to adopt it. Heck, they should just license the technology to EVERYONE.

Not sure if I got this from mohtalim or IRC, but since it popped up again, I may as well link it.

Yes, it's safe for work.

Intel is hiring in these markets to better plumb market conditions.
Tell them to stop hiring people oversea and give me a job.

I am not sure if you are allow to talk about it, but how will cache/memory work on these things?

 *gasp* Really?! I mean, IBM has been doing this for a couple years now already, and this has been on Sun's roadmaps for a long while too. Heck, this has been on Intel's roadmaps. Good job business week.

Btw, what does this mean:

Since when does Orson Scott Card write editorials? Granted, it's an excellent editorial along with pretty much everything else he wites.

We're using unsecured Microsoft Access databases to elect people right now. Geez, when we're 50, historians are going to look back and say, "What a fucked up time period."

So true. Things are changing faster than most people can keep up with.

my favorite quote from the article:
And what is vote ledger 3 for? For now, we are calling it the "Lord Only Knows" vote ledger.

The Aquada - the World's First High Speed Sports Amphibian (warning: pop-ups ahead)
Able to drive at speeds of 100mph on land, and in excess of 30mph on water, the Aquada moves between surfaces at the touch of a button - a transition that takes just seconds.

What would you do if you had information worth $20,000 to anyone but yourself?
