A bit more detail.
A bit more detail.
The paper notes that if Libby's story is true, Bush isn't in any legal trouble -- it appears to be within his authority as president to allow classified information to be released to the public -- but it would indicate a major inconsistency with Bush's previous statements on the leak that led to the outing of undercover CIA officer Valerie Plame's identity. Bush has disclaimed any knowledge of the leak and called for anyone who was involved to be punished; if he and Cheney, as Libby says, actually authorized the leak, well, that would be a story.

so it's pretty much true, they are not even denying it.
So why is it that a President has to testify under oath about a blow job, but not for this stuff? I seem to remember a few congressional hearings with Bush and Cheny on this issue that's not under oath because they won't agree to the hearing under oath ...
So I guess they will get away with this because the President has the right to declassify information as he sees fit. Probably won't do much with November electional though. I am sure the republicans are talking it over right now about weather to back Bush or not on this issue.

How is leaking the name of Wilson's wife, covert CIA spy Valerie Plame, not compromising our national security? Or is he trying to say that leaking parts of the National Intelligence Estimate was not related to the Valerie Plame name drop? I'd like to actually understand what really happened, but I guess I'll just stick with the "Republicans are liars" message and continue to not care."Declassifying information and providing it to the public when it is in the public interest is one thing," McClellan said.
"But leaking classified information that could compromise our national security is something that is very serious, and there's a distinction," he said.
