South Dakota has banned abortions. The ban includes abortions in the cases of rape and incest, so if your father rapes you, you must carry the baby to term. There was only one abortion clinic in South Dakota anyway because of prior legal restrictions. The legislature is betting that the new and improved Bush court will uphold their law, essentially overturning Roe.

One columnist offers the opinion that pro-choice activists need to move their focus to morning-after pills and contraception, especially long-term forms of contraception like implants which eliminate user error. He posits this move as a sort of "Roe is won, let's fight the next battle" though it sounds more like a retrograde action to me.
