I think the reason sales growth it falling is that disposable income growth didn't keep pace. Unless something else (housing, food, fuel, utilties, etc) gets cheaper, people simply can't afford to buy more than some numebr of DVDs, no matter how much free time they have to watch them.

On that note, one interesting thing is that music sales fell during the same period DVD sales grew. Without knowing the specific numbers, I'd bet consumers were getting all this money to fuel DVD sales growth by reducing their music purchases.

Yes, but this study is saying that studies focusing entirely on medical research are flawed one third of the time. Since this is a study of studies, it cannot comment on the chance that it is valid itself. Paradox lost.

He's outta his friggin' mind. Let's say these books were illegal drugs that were accidentally released for sale. The fact that the drugs were available from a supposedly legit supplier doesn't make them any more legal. You can still be arrested. By treating the story in the book as a trade secret until midnight tonight, property laws binding the story will remain trump. Hell, the article he linked to even says so.

One sympathises with the reader from a non-legal point of view, but property rights often trump civil liberties. There is no human right to read.
