The colors on the sword determine the colors in the pattern. Each sword of the same type has the same pattern. Mine sucks because both colors are green.

You get better at it by doing it like anything else. Click on people and look at their info. That'll give you a good idea of the different levels of experience. I'm not sure if you get some sort of bonus for having more experience in a skill or not, but I think that's the case because I get bigger puzzles for carpentry and sailing now. I don't notice a difference in bilging, but I suck at bilging. Maybe you get more special things in bilging?

yeah, i haven't figure this out yet. but different sword has different drop pattern, if you move your mouse over to your foil you would see a 4x8 block, this represent the drop pattern, but I haven't figure out the correlation yet.

You are suppose to use your and opponent's pattern to maximize your effiency, Joe might understand this better. Beside that just play alot, you don't have to bet to challenge people so just fight anyone you come across.
Think of the 4x8 pattern as going across the bottom of your screen. If you had an empty board and something dumped filled up that area, that's what it would look like. Now repeat that pattern on top of what was dropped for the next drop and so on. If you had one row across the bottom already, it would just leave that row off and continue the drop pattern as if it wasn't there.

here's a 2x2 example... Say I have a pattern of (b=blue r=red g=green y=yellow):
bb
yy

the drop on an empty board would look like board1.
If I had a row of junk already, then it would look like board2.

Code: Select all

 .... ....
  bb bb
  yy yy
  bb bb
  yy yy
  bb bb
  yy gg
----bottom----
board1 board2

which means that i ought to figure out who is on me in a melee and stack my blocks according to their sword pattern, thus enabling me to utilize their strikes against them. that, and i ought to buy a better sword, since the foil is like burning.

Have any of you looked through how the political hierarchy works. It's kinda interesting and yet simplistic. Anyways, I wanna be a captain already!!!
