MechWarrior Online

Pretty sure somebody linked the trailer to this in 2009, but I can't find the thread. Anyhow, not a console game. Gonna be a PC F2P "MMO" like World of Tanks.

But without that, what do you have left? In MW2, I played every level the same way. Turn the torso all the way to the side, and run in circles around the nearest enemy, firing whenever they were in the reticle. And since I was doing this at about 20 meters range, I didn't need the high-heat, long-range guns. I just loaded up a dozen light machine guns with as much ammo as I could carry. Sure, it took a couple minutes to kill each enemy, but nothing every fought back effectively.Urban Combat to address circle strafing...
I feel like I just beat a kitten to death... with a bag of puppies.

Re: MechWarrior Online
Just got to play it. I rocked compared to everyone else in a couple of 8v8 games. I've got pictures to prove it! I got 3 kills in both games.
Weaving in and out of buildings in figure 8 patterns messes up most people. Also, just setting up near an obstruction and peeking out with zoom to target more accurately than the other guy works wonders. They tend to be in the open with no where to run or getting chased by someone else on your team, so not much chance for them to do much damage to you at all. I can see sniping as a very effective support task for teams. Get people to follow you in circles out in the open and have the sniper(s) take them out for you.

Re: MechWarrior Online
I didn't get to explore any of that, so can't answer really well. This was a localized demo without real accounts.

Apparently some server problems, but the client is mostly OK.
Game is supposed to be really live in a week. Right now, you're paying to beta test.

Re: MechWarrior Online
Actually, it's still in beta, the beta has simply opened now. There's no launch date. Still glitchy.
