New version after the holiday. Too bad it won't be around for the holiday. Guess I'll have to play DOTA2 instead.

*Separates combat speed and movement speed
*Fleshes out elven & goblin sites so the world is less empty. Can buy small armor -> Hallelujah!

DWARF FORTRESS 0.40.01 (July 7, 2014)

Wut wut

Guess I'm going to play it on my work Macbook Pro? I'll probably be needing to bring an AC adaptor home with me, then.

Alright, gave it a few months to let the bugs shake out.

Started an elf who lives in a goblin pit. First thing I did was attack the nearby goblin cook and carpenter, murder them, take their stuff, then butcher their corpses and eat them. Then I proclaimed lordship over this goblin pit to all within earshot.

It's difficult to quench your thirst with goblin blood, but I keep trying.

Haven't had a challenging fight yet, but I noticed with the new combat I am very lethal to the random animals. When I do find some able combatants, I suspect it won't end well!

A very violent and well-designed trap system at the outdoor entrance killed or caught all of the goblins besieging the fortress from the outside, while I dealt with the plague inside. During the plague I stored a hundred or so goblins in cages, stripped naked, to release for military practice when times were better.

Just another day in responsible fortress management: involuntary Bloodsport

A quota of soldiers had gathered, so Armok ordered the inner floodgate opened, and the brave men and women to charge Quazi Siga Bora. They ran out into the cavern, through the quarantine bathtub, and assaulted Quazi with all manner of weaponry. Two mothers even carried their infants into battle, to show them how it's done.
