Impersonation Fraud (so-called Identity Theft)

Most identity theft is perpetraited by people who have a legitimate reason to see your information. Even if you, the consumer, are doing everything you can to protect yourself (shredding all your documents, opting out of pre-approved credit cards) you are still at signficant risk of having an unscrupulous employee steal your information.
If you are a victim of ID theft you could get stuck with a massive load of debt you didn't accumulate.
