About 25 percent of readers guessed closer than you.
I thought that people would guess lower because of the second example. For me, k~3.5

I assumed an average of 30 so picked 20. The winner was 19; oh well!

Honestly, this phpBB3 is a crazy old forum software. I've done some modest poking on alternatives. There's a lot of newer forums available, but the open source ones are not really in push-button state yet.
