DVD burning

Post by Dave »

So I finally got around to actually buying media for the dvd burner and for some reason I can only make coasters when burning higher than 2X speed.

Media is Sony DVD+R rated for up to 12X
Burner is NU brand 8X

I must suck.
It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but it doesn't take any to just sit there with a dumb look on your face.

I've never actually burned a DVD, but I need to start doing that because movies are taking up way too much of my drive space. Are there any particular kinds of DVD-R that would be good to purchase or avoid? I've got a standard iMac DVD-RW+-BBQ drive, for reference.

Don't go for cheap media. It doesn't always work on all drives. I've burned some memorex dvds and can read them fine on an hp computer, but can't on a dell. Not sure why.
