Jonathan and Amber will be in Hawaii August 23 through 28

Whoa, that's the most informative MOTD I've seen yet. Is this starting a trend? (Need more humor! :))

Of course, you'll be posting during that period, right?

HTPC fun

Okay, my home theater PC idea has hit a snag. I don't know if I brought this up before or not, but controlling a PC in the bedroom from your living room couch is a pain. I've already thought of using an IR remote, but that has a few problems. First off, there's line of sight. The cables for most IR ...

Speaking of typos, both my degrees have my name WITHOUT a hyphen, even though I changed it on graduation online ASAP (and can still check it, and it still has a hypen. even the prototype, while it existed, had a hyphen). This annoyed my parents, so I e-mailed Professor Neuman, the ECE undergrad advi...

There are actually quite a few good series coming out nowadays, but I suppose everyone's too busy to watch. Of course, boredom takes priority, right? :)

Since you're talking about coursework, you KNOW you want to take 212 now. You'll love/hate it. Well, you'll at least hate it :)

Yeah, that article really does go into a tailspin about halfway through.

Btw, is it just me, or is the salary low for a "Senior Research Programmer" in RI?

Also, who's Howie? (like he never existed...)

Ah, overhead, the magic account all companies seem to use. In general, overhead is any expense incurred during work that isn't directedly being funded by a project, etc. As can be expected overhead is also directly opposed to profitability, so it isn't all good. However, I've never heard of a limite...

Random logging out

I've randomly logged out within 20 minutes, multiple times. Anyone else suffering the same symptoms?

Perhaps opening a thread in a new window kills the cookie? I'll investigate later.

Hmm... reminds me of the newest traffic light in front of my family restaurant. Although the community wanted a traffic light there as soon as a new home depot was built, the city wouldn't allow it until a certain threshold of accidents was exceeded. Yes, they said that, and supposedly, it's a commo...
